Nine Queensland’s eighth annual Nine Telethon Concert returns in support of the Queensland Children’s Hospital Foundation to help sick kids and their families and today confirmed Missy Higgins will headline the event on Saturday, October 30, at 7pm on Nine and 9Now.
For one night only, join great Australian singer/songwriter, Missy Higgins as she performs at Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane, with more artist announcements in the coming months.
After being cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19, the Nine Telethon Concert is back in 2021 to unite Queenslanders and help make a difference to the lives of the state’s youngest patients and their families.
Children’s Hospital Foundation Chief Executive Officer, Rosie Simpson said the Nine Telethon Concert provides an incredible opportunity for even more Queenslanders to be a part of the Telethon.
“We are thrilled that the Nine Telethon Concert is back to its rightful place on the Telethon calendar, after being cancelled last year due to COVID-19. We couldn’t ask for better entertainers to bring the concert back than Missy Higgins and we are so grateful for her support,” Ms Simpson said.
“Money raised through the concert and Telethon helps the Children’s Hospital Foundation fund life-saving medical research, purchase medical equipment, and provide patient and family support services for sick kids and their families.
“We can’t wait to see Queenslanders join us at the concert to support our state’s sickest kids. All donations, no matter big or small, will make a huge difference to the cause.”
Managing Director of Nine Queensland, Kylie Blucher, said: “It’s events like the Nine Telethon Concert that are so important to our community, where we can all show our support and help make the lives of sick kids that little bit easier.”
“Last year’s fundraising total of over $11 million for the Children’s Hospital Foundation is a shining example of the generosity of Queenslanders and our partners.”
“I cannot think of a worthier cause and an all-round fun night out than the Nine Telethon Concert.”
